About a Book – Rhapsody in Black by María Elena Alonso-Sierra
Introducing María Elena Alonso-Sierra WebsiteGoodreadsAmazon Where did the idea for the story come from? From my experience as a dancer, and from experiencing the lives of my mother and father (and family), and hearing some of the horror stories. Everyone was a dancer: my father with Ballet Russes of Monte Carlo and then Sociedad Pro-Arte… Continue reading About a Book – Rhapsody in Black by María Elena Alonso-Sierra
My Review of Grip of a Panic by Sam J. Fires
I had the honour of reading an advanced reader copy of this book. I subscribe to the author’s newsletter and when she mentioned her ARC team, I asked if I could join. So it’s always worth asking your favourite author. The odds are they will be thrilled to have you on board. This is the… Continue reading My Review of Grip of a Panic by Sam J. Fires
My Review of The Street by Susi Holliday
This came in an email from Amazon where the paperback was discounted. It has been a long time since I read a psychological thriller. Anna is the main character and she moves into a gated community street with her husband Peter, which was supposed to be their safe haven. Right from the start it’s obvious… Continue reading My Review of The Street by Susi Holliday
My Review – The Running Grave by Robert Galbraith
This is book seven in the series and I’ve read them all. I’d heard it described as the best yet, but that's always a matter of opinion. It took me fifteen days to read the almost 1000 pages. Taking on a new case, you already knew Robin would go into a church cult. The thought… Continue reading My Review – The Running Grave by Robert Galbraith
My Review – Ceekee The Mermaid Cop
I had the honour of reading Ceekee, The Mermaid Cop before the publication date as an ARC and I loved it. The story is sweet and kind with a moral behind it. The young author's imagination brought us the sweet mermaid cop in such a delightful story. Along with the vivid illustrations it is an… Continue reading My Review – Ceekee The Mermaid Cop
About a Book – Paranormal Investigation by Chantal Bellehumeur
Introducing Chantal Bellehumeur WebsiteGoodreadsAmazon Where did the idea for the story come from? This summer, I went on a guided tour of the Cornwall historical jail and returned in the fall to conduct a paranormal investigation with my husband and son. The old building is considered haunted, and many people have witnessed strange occurrences there,… Continue reading About a Book – Paranormal Investigation by Chantal Bellehumeur
My Review – The Infected by Jessica Gomez
I found this in an author newsletter as one of the featured books. I loved the cover and it seemed like something I’d enjoy. It’s part of a series and in Kindle Unlimited. The Infected was slightly different to the usual apocalyptic books I read. That’s what appealed to me. The premise of the story… Continue reading My Review – The Infected by Jessica Gomez
My Review of Murder and Other Love Stories by Bruce A. Hanson
I saw this posted on Facebook by Pauline Reid, who is a great reviewer. She gave such a great reviewer and I had to read it for myself. A different kind of review is always a change. Twins - if the rest of stories start off as well written as this, I’m in for a… Continue reading My Review of Murder and Other Love Stories by Bruce A. Hanson
My Review of The Day the Earth Turned – Winter by Chantelle Atkins
This is the third book in the series and I had the honour of reading an advanced reader copy. Reuben, Gus, and Chess are all in big trouble in this instalment. If you ever think a Young Adult novel is light reading, you couldn’t be more wrong. I found the story to be dark and… Continue reading My Review of The Day the Earth Turned – Winter by Chantelle Atkins
