My Review of The Cook, the Ghost and her Sister by Ellen Read

The author offered advanced reader copies, and having read other Ellen Read books, I jumped at the chance.

I loved it! The two parallel storylines happened side by side making it so interesting. The ghost is Eloise, later joined by her sister. In their previous lives, the sisters had disagreements. This meant as ghosts the arguments were heard through the the house in 2023. I thought that was clever.

In present day, Dani inherits the home that the ghostly sisters used to live in. She also takes on a host of lodgers, who all play a part in making this a rich and interesting tale. Plus, a couple of them are a little mysterious. Then, there is Brett, Dani’s love interest. I enjoyed reading about their relationship.

Overall, as the The Cook, The Ghost and Her Sister reaches the end, I couldn’t put it down. A murder, a kidnapping and a lot of edge of the seat tension helped to reach an exciting conclusion. I loved it! Out of all Ellen Read’s superbly crafted books, this one is my favourite. It’s gets a full five stars and I highly recommend it!
