I have no idea where 9 Summers came from, and I’m not familiar with the author. But I’m very glad I found it. What a fun read!
9 Summers is full of humour, centred around a group of young women, especially Mary. Since breaking up with her boyfriend, Robert, she has all but given up on life. While her friends head off to a festival, Mary stays at home to mope. Refusing to give up on her, they never stop encouraging her to start living again.
Then along comes the mysterious Clementine, a young woman dressed in a curiously old-fashioned frock. She has the ability to travel backwards and forwards through time, taking Mary with her to show that Robert was never the soulmate she believed him to be.
Of course, it has a delightful, feel-good ending, as Mary finally sees the error of her ways in the most charming fashion.
