The Blight of Snow by Michael B Schwartz is a story that keeps you guessing from the start. Although, I found myself suspecting the direction of the ending fairly early on, yet the journey there remained engaging and full of intrigue. I was forever second guessing myself.
Much of the tension comes from Andrea’s experiences as she and her mother settle into a new town. As the story unfolds, Andrea’s behaviour grows increasingly erratic, shaped by the inner demons she struggles to escape. The encroaching winter mirrors her turmoil, with the snow itself becoming a powerful and almost oppressive presence.
This is a quick, entertaining read with a strong sense of atmosphere and a steady build of unease that carries you through to the final pages.

A year ago, Andrea Parker witnessed the traumatizing death of her friend. A year later, her mother moves them to Blight, Ohio, in an attempt to start over. However, Andrea cannot escape her past and had been followed by a secret shrouded in icy cold fangs. In the style of Alfred Hitchcock or Rod Serling’s Twilight Zone, The Snow of Blight will keep readers on the edge of their seats until the very end.
