I’ve read two other books by Katherine Black, and neither was anything like this one. She is such a versatile writer, and all three books are completely different.
This is the second in a series of novellas she is writing. The first was The Last Session, which was rather unusual in its subject matter.
Where Bracken Leads couldn’t be more different. I loved its dry humour, which had me laughing out loud in places. Rowan, the main character, immediately intrigued me. She had experienced a trauma I hadn’t encountered in a story before, yet her sense of humour made her incredibly endearing.
The story is light-hearted, with enough conflict to keep the pace moving, along with romance and dogs. The dogs play an important part and are adorable. It’s clear that the author knows her canines.
