This story had been around for a long time hovering on the edges of my mind. I wanted something that would celebrate the Christmas period with all the things we love.
So many people come to Anglesey for their holidays, including me before we eventually settled here.
Tina is the main character and the story is told by her. The house the family lives in was always fixed in my mind. It was based on the home of my in laws in Manchester. I have many memories of wonderful Christmas parties spent there. What happened to Tina is loosely based on real events.
The Trearddur Bay WI is real, as is the training base at RAF Valley.
Someone once told me that the Bulmer family started their empire of cider in nearby Rhoscolyn. So I created an aristocratic family for Tina’s boyfriend.
Even though this book deals with sad issues, I wanted it to be uplifting. Therefore, it has a happy ending and will leave you with a warm glow in your heart.
It’s now two years since I wrote and published One Christmas. A story that immediately gained some excellent reviews. It really blew me away.

I read the book in one go as it was hard to put down. Excellently written. It was poignaant for me after recently losing a loved one. It was very emotional but the message in it is positive and shows that magic can be rediscovered. I live in Anglesey so that added to the enjoyment. Would recommend.
A beautifully written book. It is a short story packed with sadness, love, and happiness. If you have lost someone, like I have, Christmas is sometimes tinged with sadness, but this book celebrates coming to terms with this and enjoying the true meaning of what Christmas is all about. If you know Anglesey, even better, as you may recognise some of the places mentioned. A beautiful and enjoyable read from a great author.
