Cousins are extended family members who share a special bond. Connected through common ancestry many form unique relationships.
Over the years, having done family history, I can see how many cousins lost touch due to families moving out of the area they were brought in. I’ve lost touch with two of mine completely, and my mother said she had no idea where her cousin resided. It’s sad being part of the same ancestry with no contact left. The next generation grow up as strangers without any knowledge of shared history.
Of course, these days social media has brought everyone together. If you don’t really speak, you can still get a glimpse into each others lives through shared photographs and updates.
I love my cousins, all 32 of them. We keep in touch and get together every 5 years. at a family reunion.

That’s 32 first cousins. I have hundreds of second and third cousins.
