Where did the idea for the story come from?

It started with the end of the last book in the Detective Thornton Series (Chaos) and the 6th installment of the Detective Ryan Series (Escape). I alluded to a death of a main character and decided to continue from there. It became a book of how much devastation can I cause with the new character, the Red Queen.

Give a quote from the books, one that says little but speaks volumes.

Paying for your sins can be deadly.

Give a short summary of what your book is about.

Every moment counts in this thrilling new chapter in the Detective Ryan Series, where paying for your sins can be deadly.

What genre is it?

Mystery/suspense

Why do you think the readers will want to read it?

Anyone who loves a good mystery or a game of cat and mouse will love the book. I have a way of hooking the readers with characters they care about, a story they easily get invested in, and endings that have them begging for the next instalment.

Excerpt

“What…do…you…want…from me?” Each word was expressed with a mixture of pain and anger.

“Simple,” the Red Queen replied as she opened up her blazer. She brandished the knife used to slash the random car’s tires earlier. The tip touched under the lieutenant’s chin. “I want you to deliver a message for me.” The Red Queen pulled away and began removing her jacket. “You see; I gave your girl a chance to live out the rest of her life peacefully. All she had to do was to stop looking for me. But she just couldn’t let it go.”

“If you thought that, then you really have no clue who Ali Ryan really is.” The lieutenant winced as he tried to move again. “She won’t give up on anything. She’ll hunt down every psychopath, especially if they pose a threat to her or her family.”

The Red Queen spun on her heel and stared at the lieutenant. “Well, hopefully tonight’s demonstration will end her stubbornness.”

“If you kill me, she’ll come at you that much harder.”

“We’ll see, but for now; we’ll just have to start the fun.”

The tip of the knife slowly pierced the lieutenant’s left forearm. It created a tiny hole as blood pooled around it. He let out a long groan of pain. The Red Queen smiled with delight. Hearing his pain was like a violent symphony. The lieutenant attempted to pull away, but was cut again by the wire holding him in place.
