An Oxford Haunting by Steve Griffin

This is the first book I’ve read by Steve Griffin, a ghost story author I follow on Instagram. When I joined his newsletter a while ago, I received An Oxford Haunting as a freebie. While browsing my BookFunnel app for something to read, I came across it again.

This is a classy, well-written ghost story set at Oxford University. It’s told from the point of view of Aitor, a twenty-one-year-old Spanish student.

He meets Kate, who lives in accommodation offered by a professor rather than in the student halls. These rooms are hard to come by, and hers is in a beautiful old house.

When something happens to Aitor, he finds himself staying there for a few days. It’s here that he encounters a ghost, one Kate has also seen.

I enjoyed the little surprise towards the end. I hadn’t expected it, and it tied things together nicely.

If you enjoy paranormal stories, this is well worth a read. I received my copy by signing up for the author’s newsletter.

An Oxford Haunting is a standalone ghost story set in the same eerie world as The Ghosts of Alice. It tells the story of Aitor before he becomes part of Alice’s world.
