I’ve read both of this author’s previous novels, so when this one came along, I knew I was in for a lovely read. And that’s exactly what I got.
This is a sweet romance, and it felt good to take a break from my usual dark romances or post-apocalyptic stories. I knew I could expect well-rounded characters, a good conflict, a sweet new book boyfriend and a happily ever after. I wasn’t disappointed.
Izzy escapes the rat race, leaving behind the hustle and bustle of London and the long hours of her corporate job. She swaps it all for a beautiful coastal cottage, accompanied by the cries of seagulls and the sound of crashing waves.
There was something refreshing about the idea of giving everything up and starting afresh. It really caught my imagination.
Of course, Izzy’s new life isn’t all plain sailing. She faces some frightening moments as friends and family turn against her, and secrets emerge that threaten her plans for the future.
The only thing I struggled with was the name Arthur for the sun-kissed hunk she meets on the beach. I know it’s coming back into fashion, but it still conjures up the image of an older man for me!
I highly recommend this book if you enjoy a clean, wholesome romance. It’s full of summer vibes and gives you a lovely story to escape into.

A seaside romance about second chances, healing tides and finding home where you least expect it.
When Isobel ‘Izzy’ Hartley walks away from her high-powered London career – and her long-term relationship – she’s not sure what she is running towards. All she knows is that Camber, on the South Coast with its wind-swept dunes and weathered cottages, offers the escape she desperately needs.
She doesn’t expect to collide with Arthur ‘Art’ Matthews, a guarded, ex-professional surf star with a past he won’t talk about. Art has buried himself in the quiet coastal life, hiding from the loss he’s never truly faced.
However, the sea has a way of healing, revealing truths once hidden. As summer unfolds on the Sussex coast, Izzy and Art are pushed together by the tide and the possibility that life could be more than they have settled for.
When the past resurfaces and choices must be made, will Izzy risk the shadows of the past, or embrace the possibility of a love filled future?
A heartfelt slow burn romance about letting go, starting over and discovering what dreams are really made of: When you stop chasing success, you might just find happiness.
