Spared, Book 3, by Graham Toseland

After the shock ending of book two, one thing became very clear while reading this one: Graham Toseland is not afraid of killing off well-loved characters.

It all adds to the sense of shock surrounding what this band of people has to endure. Life is tough, and I became fully invested in the characters, even though, at times, I was a little confused about who was who.

There are still proofreading errors, but oh, what a storyline! It is so good and completely character-driven. They are the ones who kept me wanting to turn the pages. Each has their own story, and be warned, no one is safe.

Out of the books I’ve read so far, this has been my favourite, purely because I really got to know the people. They felt real, and I was drawn to them and their individual personalities. Some pair off, and finding love in such a harsh world adds another enjoyable layer to the story.

There is more than one genuine shock along the way, and the drama continues to ramp up with every page. The plot keeps you fully engaged, and I simply can’t stop reading. I’m now reaching straight for the next book.
