My Review of Invaders 3, by Nick Clausen

Invaders by Nick Clauson

Alien Invasion Book 3

Rating: 4 Stars

186 pages. Kindle Unlimited

I was very excited to read the next instalment of this tale and was somehow under the impression it was the final book of a neat trilogy. It wasn’t.

It was entertaining and didn’t go the way I expected. I loved the main character Tim, but not to give a spoiler, something happens which I didn’t like. He was the hero, so I felt deflated.

In this story we were introduced to new protagonists who had their own stories to tell. One of them doesn’t last, which seemed to make his existence pointless.

I enjoyed the concept and the imagination of the author. It was cleverly constructed and we, the reader have been given a new conundrum that will carry over to the next book. It left me pondering and intrigued.

It is a great read if you love aliens trying to take over the earth. Zombie-like intelligent people who sometimes attack and other times just want to touch to pass on the gene.

I’ll likely read the next book, though I’m not as excited for the release as I was for when this one came out. Which is just as well, since Book Four isn’t expected until April 2026.

This book description is this

When everything ends, trust becomes the deadliest gamble.

Felix and his mother find shelter with Gerard, a survivalist who promises safety inside a fortified bunker he calls The Ark. But as the world outside crumbles under nuclear fire, Felix begins to suspect the real threat might be locked underground with them.

Cut off from the outside world, surrounded by secrets and lies, Felix must risk everything to find out the truth—before it’s too late.

Meanwhile, Tim and Helena race against time to find the key to humanity’s survival … a key that may lie in Felix’s hidden past.

My Favourite Bits

She looks at him, impatiently awaiting his question. He doesn’t even know what he was going to ask. He tries with, “Are you sure …?” Then, “You really think we can …?” But finally settles on, “Are you even on your medication?” “I didn’t take it last night or this morning,” she tells him bluntly. “Come on, time is ticking. The door.” She gestures in a shooing manner for him to get moving. Felix swallows, gets up and goes to the door. He checks the hallway. No one in sight. He sends his mom a quick nod.

The notes included plans for the Ark—the underground shelter he would later construct—endless lists of supplies he would need, methods for purifying water and generating electricity even if the sunlight was blocked out and the wind was somehow stopped.

Martin turns the other way and sees the gun on the passenger seat. He takes it with his left hand just as the boy digs his nails into Martin and pulls him out of the van. This time, there really is pain, and Martin screams out as he lands hard on the pavement.
