This romantic story I enjoyed in parts. But it left me wanting something more. Except it wasn’t the kind of story.

The thing that made it stand apart from others was how beautifully it was written. The story line is heavy with emotion, tears, and heaving chests.

It is a tale of two people, Adele and Ted, who meet at a rock concert. They are deeply attracted to one another from the start.

Losing touch straight afterwards, they go on with their lives until a chance meeting brings them back together. Unfortunately, Ted is engaged to social influencer, Elena, who doesn’t believe Ted really wants to leave her. She then plays her trump card. But you’ll have to read the story to find out what that was.

I recommend it for its exquisite prose and compelling passion.

The author is a prolific writer with plenty of books to choose from and some are even in kindle unlimited. I shall be reading another of her stories in the not too distant future.

This book is also standalone. The storyline is this:

Adele Pickering has always lived for music, so when her best friend suggests attending the country’s biggest festival, she jumps at the chance. Armed with her favorite wellie boots, a cozy coat, and a trusty tent, she sets off for a weekend of rain-soaked laughter and unforgettable tunes.

But the one thing she didn’t prepare for? Ted Hart—six feet of broad shoulders, cheeky grins, and undeniable charm. Sparks fly, and Adele finds herself swept into a whirlwind romance that leaves her breathless. Yet, as quickly as it starts, the weekend comes to an end, and in their rush, they forget to exchange numbers.

Ten years pass, but neither can shake the memories of that perfect weekend. What happens when a chance encounter brings them face-to-face once more? Is it too late, or was that festival romance just the beginning of something meant to be?

Tropes:
Second chance romance
Destined to be together
Love at first sight

My Favourite Bits

Onward to the bar, I confronted a daunting wall of moving bodies all pressing toward the same goal—beer. I shoved through, dragging Adele along with me. She slipped and faltered slightly in the mud as we fought forward, frustration knitting her brow. “I hate being small,” she huffed, her voice barely cutting through the noise. “You? Nah. I think it’s cute.” The word escaped me, but it was the truth. She was fucking cute. And sexy.

Adele’s eyes flickered with emotion when I addressed her, and I swallowed down the nerves that took over me. She had that ability—to render me wordless with one look, one touch. It was a power she didn’t even know she possessed.
