Karen’s Chat on the Amazon Back Office

Do you ever go into the ‘Manage your Content’ for your Kindle on Amazon?

I haven’t been for a long time, and was having difficulty downloading a book. Each time I sent it from the back office, when I opened my Kindle, it wasn’t there. (It turned out we’d changed our Wi-Fi and I forgot to update it on my Kindle.)

I have the kindle app on my phone and iPad, and the book showed up on both without problem. During the day, I read on my iPad and use my Kindle in bed.

It was annoying, but I solved it. However, it caused me to look at the books in the back office. I realised that many of them weren’t showing on any of my devices. Most I’d forgotten about it.

I always assumed that the books I bought were already stored on my Kindle. But no, that’s not the case, there were more. And interestingly, they showed the dates I bought them. Some went back to 2013 and a lot of them, I’d never even read.

Because I’d chosen them in the first place they all still looked exciting and tempting. In reality, I probably don’t need to buy another book for the rest of the year!

My To Be Read List

  • Books 1-6 in the Grant County Series by Karin Slaughter. I’ve read them, but so long ago I’ll read them again, plus there is more in the series now.
  • Books 1-3 in The Heart Trilogy by Audrina Lane. I’ve only read the first one.
  • Seven Anthologies, some part read
  • A Susan Lewis and Jo-Jo Moyes books
  • Two Conrad Jones Anglesey based books
  • Three Lynette Ferreira books (under her aliases)
  • 4 Christmas books
  • Various thrillers
  • Romance stories
  • And more.

Some were marked as read but as I don’t have any recollection of them, I may have to read them again!

I’ll sort through them and read the smaller novellas first. I’ll then work my way to the bigger books.

It’s always nice to see a cover. Which ones draws your eye?

These are the ones on my Kindle and I’m wondering have you read any? Or, perhaps there is one there you wrote.

Should you want to access the back office on your Kindle. Follow these steps.

  1. I read The Giver of Stars and loved it! If I looked at all the books on my kindle that I haven’t read, I wouldn’t have to buy another book for the rest of my life!

    1. Ooh you’ve read it. I think it was a free or cheap offer so I couldn’t resist. I’ve looked at it a few time but I remember correctly it’s over 400 pages long, which has put me off a bit,
