National Lighthouse Day

Lighthouse Day honours the beacons of light that have guarded our coastlines for hundreds of years. I’m very lucky to live on an island and we have several, each of them, bold and beautiful as they stand proud.

Our most spectacular one is called South Stack and sits on an island of its own. Tourists flock to see it, and the most hearty of them will tackle the 400 steps to reach this historial monument.

I haven’t done many lighthouses, so thought I would share these three. The one at the top, was stitched in the nineties when I first started out. The drawing, I admit looks a little like the leaning tower of Pisa!
