Salvation by Christopher Artinian

Karen’s Review

Christopher Artinian is a new author to me. I found this book on Instagram and looking at all of his books on display, this one stood out. The vibrant cover caught my attention immediately.

I enjoy apocalyptic stories but don’t tend to read that many. I wanted to rectify that and it seemed a good place to start. The author has many books like this. So if I liked it, I would literally have a library to choose from.

If I liked it! Salvation was utterly incredible. Easily one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. Perfectly executed with a multitude of characters. Tense situations were in abundance. The writer took our darkest fears and played on them.

I also download the audible version and moved between the two. It was a great way to read. When I listened, I could hear the voices of the main characters superbly read with accents to differentiate between them.

The end was the start of a new adventure, and the reader could happily leave it there. Not me. I want to know what comes next. So, the next book, Rebirth has been downloaded to be read in March.

Description

The bunkers were built for the apocalypse. Just not the one they expected.

Life was bad and getting worse in the depths of Salvation. It did not take the people of Level Three long to realise that the only reason they had been spared from the cataclysm was to become a slave class.

Now, a single accident has changed everything. Fear is spreading like a virus. Rumours become facts the moment they’re spoken. Neighbour is turning against neighbour. And time is running out fast.

For most, this signals the end. For Callie and her friends, there is just one hope, but to find it, they’re going to have to fight through the most terror-filled night of their lives.

Can they escape the horror that awaits them? Or will these next few hours be their last?

This is a series, and the next books are reviewed here.
