This has to be one of my favourite covers. It just grabbed me, and every time I see it, I’m drawn in.
This story tells of how the present and the paste collide as Chelsea goes on her first trip abroad to see the ancient tombs and monuments of Egypt. What she doesn’t reckon with is that she has been there before. Gradually the stories goes back in time and a murder plan is foiled by the daughter of a King who is a female pharaoh. They had no word for a female ruler so she was referred to as a king.
A good story that takes you back to what it must have like in those far gone times. I must admit to struggling with the names. The main character was called Neferure, which I can’t pronounce, so I sort of read it as Nuferer. The same for the other names within the book, It did distract from the story as I struggled to to give them a name. But what else can an author do to keep the story correct?
Despite that, an excellent read, which I think you will enjoy.
This book is part of the Electric Eclectic brand of books and they are all shorter reads. Particularly good if you love reading but don’t have a lot of time. I read this in an evening. It is also a good way to find new authors.
