This is a beautifully written short tale about Calvin and his family of swans. Seeing humans through their eyes makes for a wonderful story. People can be sweet and kind, but some are less so.
Although this is primarily aimed at children, I don’t see why adults can’t enjoy it too. I certainly did, as I appreciate beautiful prose, and the descriptions here are lovely.
At the end of the book, there are some interesting facts about swans, including what the males and females are called, how long they live, information about young and much more. I learnt things I hadn’t known about these elegant creatures.
I recommend sharing this delightful book with your children and enjoying it together.
