I belong to a really great Facebook group called Best Books: Readers and Authors Welcome. Their premise is simple: buy one book from the monthly list, then add all of your own books. In return, you receive free promotion across all of their groups.
As a passionate reader, I get the majority of my books from promotional posts I see, both in that group and across social media. I’ve even sold a few books there myself.
Recently, I realised I had built up quite a backlog. I don’t generally like TBR lists. I prefer to ‘see’ a book, then read it.. The only problem is, now I see far too many!
I also keep a journal where I list every book I’ve read. In my wisdom, I decided to make a note of my TBR books as well, just so I wouldn’t forget them. I honestly thought there would be about five. There were 45!
I went through my entire Kindle, and that’s probably six months’ worth of reading.
So that’s it. I’m not getting any more books. You heard it here first, and if you see me about to download another one, stop me!
This is the list I made for my junk journal.

I’m about to start a new journal, having filled my previous one. I made this pocket so I could tuck my TBR list inside and simply move it across if I still haven’t read all the books by the time I begin another journal.

If you’d like to see more of these journal spreads, I’ve started a new Instagram profile to see if I can grow it organically, without relying on advertising or heavy promotion. As I’m talking about it, this seems like a good place to share it.
So far, I have twelve followers. My book account has just under four hundred. That’s been a slow but steady climb too, and it’s been lovely to see several new followers this month.
