This is a mafia romance full of dark emotional twists and turns. Brittany is the main character, whose father offers her hand in marriage to help pay off his debts.
Lorenzo, is a powerful man who is besotted with Brittany. Unfortunately, at first, she doesn’t feel the same and refuses to marry him. I felt sorry for her at times, as she goes through a lot of things that are out of control, including being kidnapped.
The only thing I wasn’t too keen on was the cliffhanger ending. I prefer to be drawn in by the characters and the story, wanting to discover what happens next rather than being left hanging. That said, if the first book is anything to go by, this promises to be an excellent series.
If you enjoy dark dramatic mafia stories filled with emotion and suspense, you’ll enjoy this one.
