My Review
When Mara is attacked on the way home from her writing group, a stranger appears out of nowhere to rescue her. He is taken to prison for assault. As he serves time, Mara writes to him and their relationship slowly builds.
It’s the writing that make this story so alluring, the words draw you in with a stillness that creates moments that make you hold your breath,
I loved the two characters and it was as if they had been waiting their whole lives to find each other.
This is a beautiful novella, and the most perfect read for Christmas, Moving and stirring, festive in a slow burn and gentle way.
A must read for lovers of romance.

He went to prison for saving her. She never stopped writing.
When Jaxon Ward steps into the freezing night to stop a stranger from attacking a woman, he never expects to be the one in handcuffs. Charged with assault and carrying a record he can’t outrun, Jaxon lands behind bars—again. But this time, someone saw him. Someone who knows what really happened.
Mara “M” Whitaker owes Jaxon her life. What begins as a thank-you note turns into a series of letters—raw, honest, and full of things neither of them expected to say. From behind bars and through the seasons, their bond grows—built on grief, gratitude, humor, and the kind of connection that doesn’t fade.
But when Jaxon is released just days before Christmas, he doesn’t believe he’s someone worth waiting for. And Mara? She’s not sure if he even remembers the hope she tucked between every envelope.
This Christmas, they’ll have to decide if words on paper can become something real—if love can bloom in the quietest winter of all.
Letters to December is a soulful, slow-burn romance about second chances, quiet bravery, and the kind of love that finds you when you stop running.
