My Review
I can honestly say I’ve never read a book like this before. It was quirky and full of humour. The interaction between Jack and Neveah had the sort of dry humour I absolutely adore.
Neveah inherited a Christmas tree farm, and Jack was the worker who kept things going. He thought a woman from London would never last the harsh Yorkshire winter, and she proved him wrong. Each chapter was written in dual point of view, so we always knew exactly what the other was thinking, and it really was fun!
Oh, and not forgetting Mabel the goat. She was the link between Jack and Neveah. With her mischievous nature and constant troublemaking, Mabel was hysterical!
I struggled with the name Neveah. I had no idea how to pronounce it, another first for me having a protagonist’s name I couldn’t say. So instead of stumbling over it, I called her Neve.
I’ve just read Bishop released last month – and that couldn’t have been more different. For Real This Time was also released last month and Chrome and Baubles is coming out. – having read the blurb I had to pre-ordered it – and can’t wait!

Book Blurb and Link
When Neveah Whitmore inherits her grandparents’ Christmas tree farm in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, she expects cosy nostalgia, mulled wine, and mistletoe magic. What she gets instead is a crumbling farmhouse, collapsing barns, a grumpy farm manager who speaks in sighs, and a goat called Mabel with a taste for tinsel and chaos.
Determined to save the struggling business, Neveah brings big ideas, even bigger scarves, and enough festive spirit to make Santa weep. Jack Hardcastle isn’t impressed. He’s been running the place for years and doesn’t need a city girl turning his world upside down, especially not one who thinks goats can be bribed with gingerbread.
But as snow falls, fairy lights twinkle, and Mabel systematically destroys everything in sight, Jack and Neveah find themselves tangled in more than just tree netting.
A heartwarming romantic comedy full of dry Yorkshire wit, warm fires, festive flirtation, and one very determined goat.
