Whats’s Reviewing All About?

As a writer, I’m always eager to know whether readers like my books. I get so close to the words, plot, and story that I sometimes can’t see whether it will truly be a surprise to readers. Is it too obvious that the character will act this way or do a certain thing?

My books can literally reach all over the world thanks to Amazon and social media. Does it make sense to someone overseas? Will they understand the story?

I’ll never know, that unless a reader leaves a review.

In a way, it feels like someone is complimenting your appearance, especially when you’ve searched hard to find the right item. When someone compliments you on it, how good do you feel?

This is a review I received recently from. InkAndWhiskers.

I glowed, especially after the review was for a short story – No Ghosts Here, part of the Cassidy Newbold Clairvoyant Collection – which are all in Kindle Unlimited.

A haunting and thought-provoking story that kept me engaged from start to finish. The premise immediately drew me in – a young woman’s shocking suicide by self-immolation leaves behind a mother who seems strangely detached from the tragedy. This emotional disconnect is what makes the story so compelling. Following clairvoyant Cassidy Newbold as she attempts to help the bereaved mother, Sandra, brings a fascinating supernatural element to what might otherwise be a straightforward mystery. I found myself, just like Cassie, increasingly intrigued by Sandra’s unusual reaction to her daughter’s death. The mother’s emotional restraint creates this unsettling undercurrent throughout the narrative that kept me turning pages. The ending is where this story truly shines. The way Mossman ties the title “No Ghosts Here” into the conclusion is brilliantly executed. This thoughtful connection between title and resolution elevates what’s already a compelling story into something more profound.

So, please, if you’ve read one of my books, leave a review. It doesn’t have to be as lengthy as this. Even just – I enjoyed this story – is enough to get me noticed.
