I thought I’d give you an update on what I’m working on. It’s this book.
Since Norns Triad Publishing closed down, I’ve been working hard to get my unpublished books back up. They’ve all had to have a slight rewrite.
Toxic was a bigger project.
Originally written with another author, we wrote the same book, same plot, and characters. The only difference being hers was the steamy version.
It didn’t work, although the book was on sale for a time.
Having taken back ownership of my copy, I could see how badly flawed it was. It had too much packed into it.
This was a novella of just over 20k words . Yet the plot was complicated and many things weren’t explained. It’s easy for authors to get carried away – and we did!
So I dismantled it, figured out what I want it to be about, and rewrote the story.
It’s been hard work and now I’ve set it down to read through at a later date with fresh eyes. Once I’m happy it flows better. I’ll pass it my editor.
I haven’t particularly enjoyed doing it because it should have been right six years ago.
Except it bugged me. It needed to be told and have a presence, after all a lot of work went into it.
It will be good having a post apocalyptic story to add to my collection and I will learn to love it again.
