Love Quilts make quilts for children with life threatening or life changing illnesses.
Last year I joined a quilt for a little boy who chose the theme he would like and volunteer stitcher like myself got busy with our needles. All the squares are made of cross stitch – one of my favourite hobbies!
The quilt was made up by a dedicated team of quilters and delivered. The boy and his family were delighted. But, within a few weeks, his mum contacted LQ HQ. The material had run and bled over squares.
This had never happened before. The material used is specially chosen and tested. So it was a disaster and immediately a new quilt was commissioned.
We were given the option to restitch and I think most of us did. Mine on this occasion was a big one and took an age to do, but I completed my guardsmen with his bearskin hat. Now it proudly sits with the other beautifully artistic pictures.
I’m sure you’ll agree, it’s gorgeous!

This is such a sweet gift and the quilt is adorable!

Thank you, Annette.
WP has stopped notifying me of comments, and I’ve just found this! Odd and annoying! Sorry it took so long to get back to you!
