Someday by TS Arthur

A young couple who meet at primary school, go on to fall in love and have a baby.

This book appealed to me because it was a novella which meant I could read a complete story over a weekend. I wanted the paperback, but Amazon didn’t have any stock, so I downloaded the ebook instead.

Hankie’s at the ready for this tale beautifully written by the author.

I liked that the prologue introduces us to a class full of little children. Of those mentioned, I didn’t know who the protagonist would be. The teacher or one of the children.

Billy was one of those kids who can’t keep still and is hyperactive causing mischief. Georgie knew that when she grew up she wanted to be a mummy, something Billy found very funny and his laughter annoyed her.

But as they grow up, they fall in love and Georgie becomes pregnant. I knew immediately what was going to happen, I just didn’t know who and how, but that soon becomes clear too. so there were no surprises.

A good story that comes full circle in the end. I recommend this book for an enjoyable quick read.

Blurb

Someday she would love him, but not right now.

Georgie Carpenter wasn’t ready for pregnancy. She didn’t want to be a mother yet. But seeing her child at the first scan helped her become almost as excited as her partner, Billy McIntyre. With the nursery prepared, names discussed, and a babymoon completed, Georgie is locked in a happy bubble.

All that stands between them and their child is the birth. Until an unexpected call leaves Georgie lost and facing bringing up the baby on her own.

Can she cope without Billy? Or will solo parenting push her over the edge?

Someday is a standalone women’s fiction novella, with elements of bereavement, and mental health struggles. Set in the UK, it’s a short, emotional ride of characters surviving real life problems.
