I’ve never had a problem buying a book on Amazon. In fact, just the opposite, one click and it’s bought.
I wanted a paperback and during the week I ordered Picture (Im) Perfect. I’d been following the author on TikTok and also following an editor on Facebook. A few days ago I realised they were one and the same person. That was cool.

Kyra Lennon is passionate about her books and I wanted to try one of her novellas. As I’m doing a lot of traveling and waiting around this month I wanted a paperback. So I ordered it and the book didn’t arrive.
When I went back to Amazon, it said delivery was by 5th January 2025. To say I was shocked is an understatement.
I then emailed Amazon and to my surprise received a reply the same day. The person responded very nicely, if not a little over the top with at least three paragraphs of apologies and how she wouldn’t like it to happen to her. Eventually at the end she said as a token of goodwill she will send me a voucher for £20 to compensate. Well, I didn’t expect that! Thank you very much!
In the meantime I’d ordered TS Arthur’s new book Someday. And that didn’t arrive either. The delivery status said it be the end of August.
What is going on?
Five days later, and I’ve still not received the promised gift card, despite chasing it up.
Anyone else had issues with paperbacks of late?
