My Review – Summer Season at Sandy Coves by Michele E. Northwood

I saw this in the Norns Triad Book Group and I was able to chat with the author. She said Summer Season at Sandy Coves is the first book of a trilogy, and books two and three are coming out shortly.

This is a fun read and told mainly through the viewpoint of Julia, who takes a job in a summer camp. There are a lot of secondary characters who bring the story together. It was well done because I wasn’t confused jumping into different people’s minds.

I loved how it was mixed genres, a mystery, a romance, and extremely humorous in parts.

The story is based on the staff rather than the holidaymakers. What they get up to behind the scenes is both scandalous and hilarious.

The only bits I wasn’t too keen on was the chapters lengths. I like to ‘just finish the chapter’, before having to put the book down, but they went on too long. There were also a number of small errors that were slightly distracting. Luckily, it didn’t stop my enjoyment of the story.

Overall, this a good book, and a great start to a new series. If you love a summer read, then romp through the warmer months with this by your side. I recommend it.
