This came in an email from Amazon where the paperback was discounted. It has been a long time since I read a psychological thriller.
Anna is the main character and she moves into a gated community street with her husband Peter, which was supposed to be their safe haven. Right from the start it’s obvious something is wrong with her neighbours and the street itself.
When we meet the families that live there they all have something in common. The same annoying doorbell, uniform houses, and secrets they aren’t telling. Something is not right with the place Anna and Peter have relocated too.
The Street is well plotted, with clever characterisation, and clues to keep you guessing right the way to the end.
Did I enjoy it, No. I found the paranoia frustrating. By Chapter Five, I didn’t understand what was going on, but that is the point of the genre. It’s a great book, but my tastes has change.
Overall, readers who love the genre will enjoy the pace and feel of this well written book.
