My Review – Changing Tide by Robert Joncas

This was part of the Silver Daggers Book Tours and when one of my friends said she was going to read it I thought I would too.

Immediately I fell into the story. The beautiful prose was not what I expected. I love a romance especially when it’s a young adult. Skye is a great character and when she meets Paul, the story becomes interesting.

Somewhere along the way it completely changed. Gone were the beautiful descriptions and captivating prose. Gone is Paul, and in his place comes Alien Paul. The sizzling romance never materialises, the sweet story turns into a fast paced science fiction tale with elements of horror.

Although the story is written well and has some good reviews, it didn’t do it for me. I found some of the situations implausible and I couldn’t take my thoughts from the promise it held at start.

Overall, it will be a popular story for many to enjoy and the author conjured up a well thought out plot with lots of surprises along the way.
