Reblogged- Voice over—the imperfect voice

I came across this blog piece recently and it suddenly reminded me of a newspaper advert I saw in the late seventies, early eighties. It asked for people to apply to become voice overs. I’m pretty sure it was a TV company too. I wanted to apply but in the end I got cold feet. A decision I later regretted.

I’d still like to do it, but like everything else there is a lot of competition and it also helps to have a distinctive voice, which I haven’t. But more than that, I do a lot of other things and constantly tell myself not to take on anything else.

I found this article interesting. It’s a new blog to me and prompted me to write this. It’s likely I came across it in the ‘discover’ section of the WordPress reader. Something I’d previously read piqued my interest and I began following them.

This now leads me to a professional voiceover I discovered on TikTok. I was led to her because she was the narrator of books I’ve read. The author shared profile on Facebook. Angelina is mesmerising to watch as well as to listen to. Take a look.
