My Review of A Rhyme in Time by Simon MacDonald

This is Simon MacDonald’s debut book, and what a book to start with. Just as my mother taught me, I taught my children to sing all the nursery rhymes. This one epitomises all that I knew and loved.

The author’s wonderful verses and prose are absolutely charming. Coupled with the delightful illustrations, drawn by his own hand. This is the most perfect of books. I can honestly say there was nothing I didn’t like, and so much I did.

Overall, I can see this becoming a much loved book for any child, or indeed any adult to read and treasure with their family. The stories told within the rhymes are as perfect as they can be. I highly recommend it as a treasured keepsake to read over and over again. It’s gets the full five stars from me.
