My Review of The Sisters by Ruth O’Neill

I’ve read and enjoyed this author’s books, and bought The Sisters as soon as it came out.

Ava the main character meets Joel and they fall in love. But all is not as it seems, the reader can see Joel does not feel the same, despite his caring words and actions.

Ava also fails to see that Tanya, her eldest sister, is not a loyal faithful sibling. When she invites both Ava and twin Bella to go on holiday, alarm bells should have rang. We knew something had already happened in the past and it should have made Ava wary.

The sisters go off together, and I was expecting something to happen. Except, this is where the author cleverly turns the events into something I didn’t see coming. From that point onwards it’s a roller coaster of a ride and a psychological shocker. All I can say is poor Ava.

Overall, this a thriller that comes with an adrenaline rush. There were a few inconsistencies, but it’s an entertaining read and will keep you on the edge of the seat right through to the end.
