Karen’s Magic Review
This story came recommended to me because I loved Salvation by the same author. I knew it wasn’t the same genre and that it was horror, which I’m generally not a fan of horror, but there is always an exception. Sadly this was not not it.
It is an excellent story, well written and executed. The horror factor was all there and it sent a shiver down my spine. There is also a fair amount of gore. I’m not going to give anything away, but the book describes itself as a survival story. If you like strong female leads, the women are solid slayers.
Unfortunately, I found it frustrating, and I didn’t like the ending at all. Although I did guess at it when I found out that there is a whole series called Relentless, so if you love this kind of thing, you’ll be delighted with this story.
The book is faultless, it’s just a matter of personal taste and unfortunately it wasn’t mine.
Description
Sal had woken up with no recollection of the night before a few times but never like this … in a forest … alone … confused … scared.
She scoured her surroundings, desperate for some clue as to how she’d ended up here. Fragments of conversations, snapshots of memories were all she could scramble together.
But, suddenly, none of it mattered.
A stranger.
A warning.
And the hunt is on.
Now Sal and her friends are in a battle like no other. Death and terror lurk around every corner. Can they defy the odds and live to fight another day?
Or will they fall like so many before?
Is it all a nightmare or is it for real? One thing is for sure, it’s relentless.
