The Killer on the Heath by Karen J Mossman

Released 16th September 2021, 110 pages, Kindle Unlimited. Mystery, Crime, paranormal, psychic.

My first book in quite a while is finally out. I pulled all my books in order to rewrite them now that I belong to Norns Triad Publications.

The Killer on the Heath will be the first of a trilogy featuring Cassie Newbold, a clairvoyant and empath. Her brother is a police detective, and in this story, she helps him track a killer.

About the Book

The original short story was born in 2018. I liked it and wrote another and another. I soon had a collection of short stories.

As I perused covers on Facebook, I came across the image from Ebook Covers online, run by Michelle. It was a perfect Cassie. When I republished with Norns, the original image was found and J. M. Northup, as well as being my editor, redesigned the cover.

To learn more about Cassie, there is a character interview done by J. M. Northup on her blog.

#PicturesTellingStories is a feature on here for other people, so I am pleased to present this from my own book.

The first picture represents the run down house of the killer. It’s where the police suspect he keeps his victims. Beneath that shows Cassie and her brother Seb, who are twins. This forges a connection between them that is stronger than siblings.

Being an empath means that Cassie is highly tuned to other people’s emotions. Paired with her clairvoyance makes Cassie’s gift very powerful.

Description

A woman is dead, and another is missing. The only person who can save her is Cassie.

With no clues and time running out, her brother, Detective Newbold, desperately needs her help. He is counting on Cassie’s clairvoyant and empathic abilities to locate Chantelle.

When Chantelle’s brother, Pedro, seeks out a psychic for help, he meets and falls for Cassie. Though he wants answers, neither Cassie nor Detective Newbold can give any, which complicates their relationship. To make matters worse, his overbearing mother adds further damage with her meddling.

Meanwhile, the killer has been caught, but he refuses to talk. Now, it’s up to Cassie to read the signs and rescue her lover’s sister.

Will she find the answers in time?
