In 1994, President Bill Clinton signed 36 U.S.C. § 135 into law, establishing National Parents’ Day. According to the United Nations, Parents’ Day is meant to show appreciation to parents everywhere for their “selfless commitment to children and their lifelong sacrifice towards nurturing this relationship.”
