Karen’s Magic Review

I came across this book on one of the WordPress Blogs I follow. I instantly liked the cover and the title. The blurb piqued my interest and I instantly went to Amazon to download it.

What I hadn’t realised is this book contains erotica. I’m not a massive fan of erotic as it can sometimes take over a book. But when handled correctly, it can enhance the story. As I continued reading, I saw that’s exactly what it does.

What I liked best

The humour. Callie, the main character, and it is written from the first person point of view. This enables us to really get into her mind. And her mind is fast thinking, quirky and amusing.

And the rest

Callie has three girlfriends and two boyfriends (the latter not at the same time, I hasten to add). She has interesting relationships with all of them. The author made me fall in love with both the men. The girlfriends are great too, and I enjoyed reading about the big fall out. That sort of thing happens and a lot of people get hurt, just as they do in this story.

The main topic, of course, hence the title, is the hot firemen, particularly the two in this book,  Chase and then Ash.

I loved the way each chapter started out with a short statement: I love fireman, closely followed by I hate fireman in the next chapter.

It’s a light-hearted read, but then tackles serious issues as well. There were several side stories and some great plot twists.

Good characterisations by the author and the book length enables you to get your teeth into it and really enjoy. For me a great page turner and one I had to read every day – several times if I could find the time!

All in all a smashing read!
