Although I have come across Mary J Williams before and she is a prolific writer, this is the first time I have read one of her books. I really didn’t expect to find a blockbuster of a story that I couldn’t put down, it literally kept me gripped.
It tells the story of Jade, a woman who is broken by her father and her ex-husband.
Enter Garrett Landis, a film director from a Hollywood family. With his help and their hot affair, Jade begins to grow again and soon becomes a strong and confident woman.
What I liked best:
The whole story! Garrett was strong and handsome and Jade fragile (to start with) and beautiful. I loved that they conducted their affair in secret and at first only in the dark. I loved the world they lived in and all the Hollywood glamour that went with it. I also loved his family, three strapping handsome brothers, and the way they interacted with each other and their parents.
And The Rest:
Mary J Williams is an all round great story teller. She knows what the romance reader wants and gives it to them and there is plenty of it! This is probably the best book I have read this year and if you have read her yet, then I thoroughly recommend you do!
