This book is simply delightful. I hadn’t realised when I downloaded it that it was written entirely in poetry. The whole story is told in verse, and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it.
Who doesn’t love cute cats and dogs? Poppy is a sweet, boisterous young pup from the local dogs’ home who takes her new owners by storm. Thankfully, Mr Perkins the cat is on hand to help keep the youngster in check.
The illustrations of Poppy and Mr Perkins truly bring these characters to life. They are absolutely adorable.
I read this on my Kindle and would recommend it as a lovely book to read with children. However, I think it would be even better enjoyed as a paperback, where the illustrations can really shine. It would make a wonderful gift, and I highly recommend it.
