When I first read the description of this book, I wasn’t sure it was for me. However, having read the first story, I wanted to find out what happened to Lydia. I’m so glad I did. What a caper!
Yes, Lord Guy Milton is kidnapped and taken to a run-down estate with no servants. He finds himself stranded there with Lydia and her brothers, although he isn’t actually held captive. Everything is very different from the usual standards of high society. It was quite enjoyable seeing them having to do everything themselves, from cooking and cleaning to carrying out repairs.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and I must say I wasn’t prepared for the ‘intruder’ or the dashing around in ‘secret tunnels’! It was exciting and, dare I say it, amusing at times.
If historical romances are your thing, you ought to check this book, and the whole series, out. I highly recommend them, especially Midnight Wedding.
