My Review
I really do love a short story, especially when it is as concise and well written as this. I loved the way it started with a little guessing game. Who is this person and why does she sleep during the day? You immediately make assumptions but, as it is told in the first person, she quickly explains you’re wrong.
The story slowly unfolds and it is exciting to discover the truth. Her name is Callie, and she is offered a job she cannot turn down. With every page, the intrigue builds as we wait to uncover why, and by whom.
This is entertaining throughout, especially as it rises to a climax with an ending that is both creepy and thrilling. I loved it.
Highly recommended.
Carrie O’Leary is a new author to me, and I will definitely be checking out what else she has written, especially now that I have found her on Instagram.

Callie Simms didn’t have a normal childhood, so it’s hardly surprising that her life choices have been out of the ordinary. A letter pushed under her door brings the past rushing back and she’s about to return to the place where it all began. All she has to do is make it through the night.
