Would You Risk Your Career for Love?
That question is asked in this story, and this is my review.

Romance

This was one of those stories where every word counted for something.
Romance is the core, and the author is skilled at writing love and emotion.
I would describe it as a slow burn that takes a long time to heat up. The characters are strong, and the backdrop of ice hockey is interesting.
You don’t have know or like hockey to read the story and be entertained. The scenes between the main characters are beautifully written and woven together. The words pour over you like liquid, at times it’s hard to stop reading them.
I don’t generally read books as long as this one, but was drawn in by seeing adverts on social media. Once I’d read the description I downloaded.
On the whole this is a good story, but for me it was overly long. The end changed the tone and shifted it up a gear, which made it suddenly exciting.
Romance readers should enjoy this.

This book is also standalone and this is the stunning description
She’s tough, unshakable, and immune to his usual charm and that only makes him want her more.
He plays rough on the ice. She doesn’t play at all.
Dylan “Diesel” Winters lives for the adrenaline, on the ice and off. But when a brutal hit sends him straight into the hands of sharp-tongued physiotherapist Mia Clarke, his game hits a wall.
What starts as a clash of wills turns into something neither of them expected: raw connection, undeniable chemistry, and a shot at something real.
But can a man who’s always run from his past learn to fight for his future?
My Favourite Bits
My breath catches. The world drops away, and everything narrows to the space between our mouths.
The kind of urgency that comes from being too full of all the feelings and not knowing how to convey any of it with words.
I don’t do anything for hours except pace the floor and check my phone like some desperate addict waiting for a hit. I leave my bag by the door. The lights stay off.
