Say What You Feel – I’ll Go First…

This is my review of an emotionally charged story.

Say What You Feel by Kyra Lennon

Romance

Rating: 5 Stars

Kindle Unlimited – Audiobook

214 pages

In this second book of the series we deal the court case. There is a dispute about the rape claiming Ambra was a willing participant.

That wasn’t true. We already know this from the first book.

Noah is the lead singer of the band Chaos in the Courtyard and stands by Ambra’s side throughout. He gives her both physical and mental support. Noah is the perfect book boyfriend, everyone will fall in love with him. The author’s skill at weaving heartfelt emotive scenes takes the reader on a rollercoaster of a ride.

The relationships of the people who stand by her – the rest of the band, their parents, and the management, are also a strong supporting cast.

There is romance at the heart of this story, but it’s more about the effects of standing up and facing your the accusers. Ambra is a strong woman, although her moments of weakness and self doubt are often hard to read.

This is an incredibly moving story and I can honestly say I’ve never read anything like it. The final instalment, I hope, will bring us more of Noah and Ambra.

This has been an incredibly emotional ride for the pair of them. They need time to heal and learn how to love each other with others watching and photographing them because he is famous. I want to be with them when experience what being a couple really means. That’s what I hope this next book is about.

This book is also standalone and this is the stunning description

Chaos and Consent Book Two

The truth is meant to set you free.
For Ambra McKenna, it’s proving to be the complete opposite.

Still branded a liar by those she thought were her friends, she’s now faced with a choice – face the man who violated her in a trial to quieten the lies and misinformation, or slink away to quieten the relentless online attacks and rebuild her shattered trust in private.

With the weight of the decision crushing her and her self-worth at an all-time low, Ambra is pulled out of the darkness by the one person who has endured every moment of this nightmare with her. Noah Garcia.

But after being betrayed by almost everyone she loves, she no longer trusts herself. How could she ever learn to trust him?

When Ambra refuses to let her attacker go unpunished, she has to gather her strength and find a way to restore her confidence. But will facing him and revisiting her nightmares set her free, or is she destined to be imprisoned in her pain?

This book contains trigger warnings for sexual assault, social media bullying, suicide attempt and severe depression.

My Favourite Bits

It’s funny how you can hear someone’s words and know they’re speaking the truth, yet still, you can’t take it in. It was like someone had placed me inside a bubble, and people’s words just bounced off the outside. I could hear them, but they wouldn’t reach me.

“Ambra!” My mum’s desperate scream and pounding on the bathroom door made me drop the razor, and just like that, a small bit of clarity came back to me. “Ambra, let me in right now!”

With nothing left inside me, I sank to the floor and pulled myself across the room to unlock the door. The second I slid the bolt across, I lay my head down on my arms and sobbed as my mum came barrelling through the door.

I heard her gasp, presumably spotting the open cabinet doors and the razor blade which now lay by my feet. “Andrew!” she screamed to my dad, and then she lifted my limp body and dragged me onto her lap

“What happened?” I said frantically. “I was just thinking that Ben is going to get what he deserves, but I left the courtroom before he was sentenced. Please, please tell me they didn’t give him some crappy sentence. He has to get some kind of punishment after all this.”
