Invaders Book Two by Nick Clausen

Scary and absorbing!

Invaders by Nick Clauson

Alien Invasion, horror , post apocalyptic, series, book two.

Kindle Unlimited, and in Audible.

My Rating: 5 Stars

In this second book, once infected, people are turning into cannibals. Others are infecting as many people as they can.

What makes it interesting is that some are immune. One in particular, is Tim, the first person to be infected. But he didn’t change to become one of them. He stays himself, but a fitter, stronger man, with certain powers.

Veronica is also immune. She hasn’t discovered her powers yet, if she has them. She is grateful to have survived.

I love post apocalyptic and alien invasion stories. This one is superb. Nick Clausen tells imaginative stories that grabs readers immediately.

I want more, but now have to wait until May for the conclusion to this trilogy.

Highly recommend.

The storyline is riveting and plot is this:

A strange, glowing object lands in the forest. Tim is the only one who sees it. Venturing out to investigate, he discovers animals infected with a mysterious black growth. When he returns to his cabin, he realizes the horrifying truth: whatever disease the object brought to Earth, Tim has caught it too.

Now begins a living nightmare. Tim grows sicker, succumbs to the illness and dies—only to awaken again the next morning.

But something is wrong. Tim is no longer fully human. He’s transforming into something else. Something dangerous …

Invaders offers a chilling blend of sci-fi horror and post-apocalyptic suspense. With its gripping tale of alien invasion and unsettling mutations, this story will appeal to fans of Independence Day, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and Stephen King’s Dreamcatcher and The Tommyknockers. A compelling start to a series that explores survival, humanity, and the fear of the unknown.

My Favourite Bits

Tim slips the phone back into his pocket. Helena is still staring at him. She probably heard it all.

“Is this it?” she asks. “Is this how the world ends, Dad?”

Tim breathes a couple of times. “Certainly looks that way, yeah.”

“Are you still … are you still turning yourself in?”

He shakes his head. “Wouldn’t do any good now.”

“Oh, thank God!”

No answer. She can make out one of Alan’s eyes through the membrane. It’s closed, as though he’s sleeping. It looks like he’s surrounded by some kind of thick liquid. Eyeing it closely, Lis can tell the cocoon—or whatever it is—is slightly pulsating slowly. Like a giant lung breathing.

She stands for a long moment nailed to the spot in the darkness of the basement. Her wrists and elbows are aching from the recoil. Her head is thrumming. Her mouth is dry. The monster is slumped to the floor, leaning against the lower rung of the ladder. Amazingly, it’s still breathing; even from over here,
