I saw this book in a collection with others, and the cover instantly attracted me. Having read and enjoyed the author before, I downloaded it.
Eliot, who is a girl, Beth, Noah and Weaver, a boy, are the four main characters in this intriguing tale of secrets and murder. Kelsea Gregory went missing two years ago and the four teens know something about it.
So, it seems does someone else. They all each start receiving menacing messages and some are being stalked. There are two things going on and it kept me guessing. Who is harassing them? What happened to Kelsea?
Welcome to Hollow Wood was a cleverly written, and fast paced story. There were lots of red herrings to throw you off the trail. I couldn’t guess who it was that was out to get them. Even when someone was revealed, it was a total surprise.
I also enjoyed learning the backstories of the protagonists. They had all gone through some sort of trauma that moulded them into the people they had now become.
This is a great story, one lots of readers will enjoy. The only thing I’m not a fan of is the cliff hangers. There are still many more questions that needed an answer and we have to wait for the next instalment.
This is the first book of what will be a very exciting series I recommend it.
