Brief Description – Don’t look up because what you see will change you to a raving lunatic.

This story, the fourth in the collection took a turn I didn’t expect.
As each chapter is dedicated to one of the characters, it seemed a long time before I heard from the ones I liked.
Although they were some left, my favourite people were rendered helpless, or killed off. A lot of reading time was with those I was less interested in.
In Blind Pain a new element was introduced. Realistic ghosts from individual pasts make an appearance. There was no explanation to reader, or any hint on how the characters could get rid of them. Therefore, I felt clueless with nothing to root for.
I felt that my favourite people, had lost some of their character. The elements that made them interesting didn’t seem to be there anymore.
You’ve guessed it, I didn’t like the strange turn the storyline took. I felt disappointed.
The reviews, however, disagreed. Most people enjoyed it. So if you read Blind Pain, I’d be interested in what you thought.
I still recommend the series, and you’ll know from my previous reviews that I loved them. So I’m a bit deflated with this one.
I’ve finished the series now as I’ve no inclination to continue with them. It’s become too bizarre for me to enjoy.

Blurb
In the wake of the catastrophic event known as the breaking sky, the survivors find themselves facing horrors much greater than the blind, mindless monsters roaming the cities.
Mark and John are trapped at the government facility, now in complete darkness. Only one of them seems to have the will to go on, but it will take a lot to make it out of there, through endless hallways and stairwells, in pitch blackness, with dozens of blind people lurking everywhere.
Tommy learns from his dead father things about his past he’d rather not have known. Sometimes, memories forgotten are best left that way, and he soon finds himself in an all-out fight for his life, where he can either kill or be killed.
Gina continues to spiral, coming closer to a complete breakdown. Having no choice left, she leaves the safe house and her boys, as her unstable condition proves a threat to them all. Now, alone in a broken world, her own, personal demon is watching her every step, edging still closer …
Faced with ghosts bringing up crippling fear, some of our heroes resort to panic, while others make a stand. Still others can’t seem to discern the dangers and descend only deeper into the grip of their inner tormentors. Who will make it and who will not?
After all, there’s no cure. No prevention. Not even an explanation.
Only blind pain.
