Brief Description – short stories that pack a punch!

I really enjoy reading books from this author and what a great catalogue she has! This time I thought I’d give her collection a go.
This book is tough, as in strong with bulging muscles. Everyone story packs a punch. From twisted, to dark, to amusing and laugh out loud, it has everything.
Many of them caught me by surprise. Like The Shed, with a weird surprise: Who Turned out the lights? – had my imagination spiralling. The girl who had a fear of slugs, ugh, I felt her terror.
There were so many memorable tales that thrilled and haunted me. They made me scared, and love, and often just wonder.
The author’s love of nature was evident, as were the stages of life that it covered. A newborn baby, and thoughts of impending death. I could go on about these, but I suggest you try them yourself.
An all round cracking read. I recommend it and have no hesitation in give it a whopping….

Blurb
A sinister town that’s not on any map, mysterious black vans and missing people, a book that can kill you, a vengeful mother, an account of life after death, and your worst nightmares come true.
This is a strange and dark collection of poems, short stories and musings on a variety of gritty subjects, such as revenge, body image, fear, death, life, motherhood, nature and writing.
