Point of Impact by Kyla Stone

The US is under attack as several cities are hit with a nuclear bomb.

As we most Kyla Stone books I’ve, read so far you are immediately plunged into the action. We are introduced to Dakota who is one tough lady. We know immediately that something in her background has made her like this. As the story unfolds we learn a little more about her, but still not everything. That must be saved for future books, but thankfully no cliff hanger at the end. Just a yearning to know more,

I love stories where a group of strangers are thrown together by a disaster and then have to make their way to safety.

This was my ideal book, post apocalyptic, under three hundred pages and in Kindle Unlimited. Although, having said that I listened to the whole book on audio. It’s good to know the rest of series is easily available.

If you are looking to start a great new series, then this is it. I highly recommend Point of Impact and it gets the full five stars.

Surviving the blast is only the beginning….

Dakota Sloane, a tough-as-nails former foster kid, has spent her life running from the past. Logan Garcia, a man haunted by secrets, has only one goal: to drink himself into oblivion.

They’re two strangers in a bar – until the news reports nuclear bombs in New York City and Washington, D.C. Fearing Miami may be next, Dakota’s first thought is to grab her little sister – still trapped in the system – and get the hell out of Dodge.

Then the world explodes. As buildings collapse and fires rage, utter chaos erupts. Trapped in the burning city, Logan and Dakota have less than 10 minutes to seek shelter before the lethal cloud of fallout descends.

But Dakota’s sister is still out there. To rescue her, Dakota will need Logan’s help, but can she trust him? And how far is she willing to go to save the only family she has left?
