The inspiration for this came from a post by Beth Olivier, who talked about her morning routine. I’d also had a previous conversation with my son who said, ‘If I want a brew in the evening, I just go and get it. Yet you look at the clock first.’ That made me chuckle because he referred to my routine of an evening drink at 9 pm, not before or after.
I reckon we must all have routines that we rarely deviate from.
My morning consists of waking up at 7.45 making a coffee to bring back to bed. Radio 2 comes on and I listen to the news, although that is pretty grim at the moment. Whilst I come round, I read my phone or Kindle.
My favourite meal of the day is breakfast, and I never miss it. That’s always the same too. Cereal and milk. I have different ones, usually, Shredded Wheat, or Weetabix and a banana, or Cheerios, or Cornflakes. I like Ready Break and porridge, too. Always followed by a freshly brewed coffee,
Except at the weekend, when it’s croissants on Saturday, and crispy bacon, with an egg on a balm cake on a Sunday. (Bap, roll, bun, whatever you call it.) Sunday tea time is the traditional roast dinner.
We have coffee at 11 am, a light lunch round about midday, and tea about 5. Tea of course is the meal, not the drink. Although I drink coffee, I have a cup of tea at lunch time unless I’m having soup, that is.
Then back to where it started 9 pm when it’s supper time. A cup of coffee and a biscuit, sometimes a milky coffee, sometimes plain black.
Outside that, I walk the dogs everyday and hubby does the weekly shop on a Saturday.
So how about you? Do you have set routines?
