This is book number twelve and I’ve read them all over the last eleven years.
The thing I love most is they are set in north Wales where I live. Often based on Anglesey, or like this story, they frequently visit.
Inspector Drake and his team of now familiar detectives are faced with a murder when a a women is found hanging in her shop. She is the owner of Looking Good, hence the title. This is followed by further murders.
Ian Drake is a great character, a good detective, and I like him a lot. He suffers from OCD, which always makes things interesting. Now that he is married, it isn’t as bad as it once was. That’s what gives this stories an edge.
Overall, for crime buffs who love procedural stories and investigative books, this perfect. They are stand alone, so you could read just this one. Plus it’s not too complicated and a nice easy read. All neatly wrapped up in 300 pages. I recommend it.
